2019 Winter Outings
We’ve had some fantastic winter outings this season. Pictures from our various trips can be seen below. Consider joining us for an outing. Visit our Outing Schedule
Fort Ticonderoga
Shatagee Woods ADK takes a trip to visit Fort Ticonderoga! On Wednesday, August 6th, Jane, Bill, Janet, Margaret and Marianne spent the day touring the beautiful grounds of Fort Ticonderoga. Thank you to Marianne for organizing this event.
Union Falls Pond
On Saturday, August 4th Marty, Marianne, Steven, Marjorie, Jane and Bill took a trip to Union Falls Pond for a beautiful paddle. Our trip was packed full of adventure – a little rain, wonderful lunch spot on an island, one of the largest bull frogs I’ve ever seen, one of the smallest catfish I’ve ever seen, a bald eagle and a cloud to cloud lightning. Thanks to Jane and Bill for leading this trip.
Everton Falls
Saturday, July 21st: A beautiful canoe outing on the East Branch of St. Regis river let by Sue Smith. Attended by Jane, Bill, Marianne, Marty, Steven and Marjorie.
Wild Center, Tupper Lake
Here is a picture of Jane and Bill at the Wild Center in Tupper Lake. Sharon and Jim led a trip to the Wild Center on Wednesday, June 6th. More Shatagee Woods events coming soon..be sure to check out our outings calendar.
Still Winter in the North Country?
A beautiful ski on Saturday, April 21st near Owlyout Creek, Merrill, NY. We saw moose tracks. The skiing was perfect. Spring is just around the corner….

Sugaring Off 2018
We had our annual Sugaring Off party at the old school house. The Shatagee Woods chapter has been hosting this event for over 40 years. It was a beautiful day with plenty of snow. Spring has yet to arrive in the North Country.
First Day of Spring??
Plenty of snow for the first day of spring. Hopeful it will stick around for the Sugaring Off Party, Saturday, March 31st. I’m guessing we won’t have to traipse around the woods in search of snow for our sugaring. Skiing and snowshoeing anyone??
Waffles and Skiing
Come to the VIC at Paul Smiths for some Sunday Funday skiing or snowshoe AND waffles! Meet at 10am. Please visit our outing schedule for further details.
Looks like we’re going to get some rain this week in the North Country but we should still have plenty of snow!
